One Year Of Posts!

Today marks a milestone of sorts for me.  It was one year ago today that I launched this blog.  At the time, I wasn’t sure whether I would still be interested in blogging after a month, let alone a year latter.  But I am still here—one year and 6,255 hits later!

Here is some trivia about my blog after its first full year in existence—trivia that is probably only of interest to me.  Nonetheless, here are the statistics:

78 posts;
4 pages;
9 drafts (will they ever be finished and posted?);
21 posting categories;
437 tags;
110 total comments of which 73 have been approved and posted;
789 spam comments that never made it to press—Whew! That’s a lot;

The busiest day for my blog was Saturday, August 30, 2008 when the it had 123 views.

And, finally, the top ten all-time posts, with number of views, are as follows:

Title Views
A Story About A Bear 286
Fads . . . They Come And They Go 263
Rembrandt, Beethoven, And The Rest Of Us 176
Global Temperature Crisis — A New Ice 128
Winter Blahhhhs 121
Birthdays 106
107 Years 85
In Memoriam – November 10, 1975 74
The Rising Value Of The Dollar 71

And there are many more statistics (WordPress loves statistics). But you are already bored with this shameless aggrandizing; I can tell.

So I will finish patting myself on the back now and move on to other things.  However, I should say that I’m amazed that I lasted this long.  If nothing else, it shows that vanity has still not gone out of style.

  1. well done on lasting a year,
    i hope my blog lasts that
    long [and hopefully longer,

    i think its been going on since
    late august, but not sure it
    will last a year [although i hope
    it will] because i keep running
    out of things to write about,
